Liz Johnson
Intake Coordinator
In her role as Intake Coordinator, Johnson is responsible for assessing potential residents of LifeHouse Group to find men who could most benefit from LifeHouse Group’s comprehensive blend of services and supports. To make these assessments, Johnson conducts interviews in person and over the phone to develop individual profiles that include substance use history, family background, current living arrangement, and general demeanor. She also conducts outreach in Illinois prisons to educate returning citizens about LifeHouse Group and the services we provide.

Johnson is a licensed social worker with extensive experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and behavioral health issues. She has worked as a case manager, addictions counselor, and as a managed care coordinator. She has a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies and is certified as an alcohol and drug counselor. She has also obtained a specialization in co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Johnson’s experience and empathy for the struggles that confront individuals during the recovery process allow her to ask discerning questions to assist potential residents with finding the placement that best suits them. Her favorite part of working at LifeHouse Group is the instrumental role she plays in assisting clients initiate a second chance at life after it’s been interrupted by addictions. First impressions are everything and being the welcoming voice on the other end of that initial call for help is paramount to her work.
